What PackVerity does — and does not do.
The free plugin focuses on packaging records inside WooCommerce.
Is PackVerity really free?
Yes. The WordPress.org Free edition is a complete standalone plugin, not a trial. No PackVerity account or licence key is required.
Can I use the data for EPR or packaging reporting?
PackVerity provides structured source data and totals by material, year and destination country. Which legal categories, thresholds or declarations apply to your business must be checked with the relevant scheme, authority or adviser.
Does PackVerity submit filings or guarantee compliance?
No. It records packaging data; it does not determine producer status, validate legal classifications, submit statutory filings or guarantee compliance.
Does it support variations?
Yes. Each WooCommerce variation can have its own packaging weights.
What happens when packaging changes later?
New orders use your current master data. Each processed order keeps its own frozen packaging record, so earlier order records are not silently rewritten.
How are refunds handled?
Refund-aware product quantities are optional and off by default. Outbound shipping packaging is not automatically subtracted because a financial refund does not prove that shipping packaging was physically returned.
Does order data leave my site?
No. The Free edition has no telemetry or external licence API. Packaging records stay in your WordPress/WooCommerce database.
What is in Professional?
Professional is a separate commercial distribution for advanced audit workflows such as detailed append-only audit views and audit CSV, historical product-version browsing, historical backfill, documented manual adjustments and manual order resynchronization.
